EVERY WHICH WAY BUT OUT – Part I.

Her hearts been broken
for years
Have you not noticed
a pattern in her tears?

Her poems are all love cries
of a love that diminished
years ago
no lie

Just stuck there
in what you’d call
limbo
She’d used her Christian
faith as a symbol

To remain in a place
That she didn’t want to be
mostly because she’d felt her
child needed her to be

Of course there were
other reasons
Unjustified reasons

But when it boils
down to it
Threats were
all that “he” had

Then one day
She gathered her belongings
After years of reading
motivating and inspiring

She hit the road …
