EVERY WHICH WAY BUT OUT-PART II

EVERY WHICH WAY BUT OUT– Part II

She hit the ground running
Continually looking back
She doubted her every decision
It wasn’t the courage
that she lacked

She’d always had courage
It was the guilt that
“he” made her feel
Or maybe she felt guilty

She sought the advice
of the head of a
Local Womens Ministry
And she poured her heart
out to this woman

This woman looked at her
disgustingly
And told her that she’d
got what she deserved

That she should be ashamed
for just walking away
And with her son and his father
she should have stayed

She looked at this women
confused
And as if she was joking
She felt like this Christian
woman was judging her

This woman looked at her
like she was scum
All because she’d left
her husband

So many things ran
through her mind

Should she go back
Should she go forward
Was this what she was
supposed to do

She had to get up
She had to get out
Because she felt like

She wanted to ramshack
This woman’s room

“How dare she judge me
For doing what was right
When I’d been fighting it for years
Feeling selfish
Every time I’ve tried”

Reading those motivational quotes
telling her that loving herself
wasn’t selffish
And that loving herself was right

So she walked out of the office
and walked out of the church
And slept in her beat up old car
that night
