SOCIAL ANXIETY

SOCIAL ANXIETY

I want to get out the house
but when I do I can’t get out
of the car
I’m paralyzed
Things
People
and places
Appear to look so much better
from inside here

I’ve always wondered why my dog
would whine when he was caged
Yet when the cage was opened
he’d just lay there

Maybe the feeling of not
having a choice made him
claustrophobic

The choice whether to stay
Or the choice whether to go
But not having any choices at all
is what made him cry
