EVERY WHICH WAY BUT OUT- PART IV

EVERY WHICH WAY BUT OUT- PART IV

What she had to do, was make a plan
She couldn’t continue to live with a
crazy man
long story short she ended up in Austin

When the Bible talks about suffering
She really felt like she was
Because all the praying
that she’d been doing
was doing absolutely no good

When they talk about Austin Texas
being a city of the unique
They weren’t lying
because most of these people all
seemed like freaks

She lived in places and
I cried every night
She regretted her decision
Should she go back and
Just give up the fight

The divorce process was just
taking too long
Maybe God wanted her to go back
which was why the divorce
seemed prolonged

Her husband had been lying
about things
And being incredibly spiteful
He would take away everything
she had leaving her
destitute and suicidal

Still the ring weighed heavily
on her finger
And it irritated her so
Because she wasn’t even wearing it
Yet God still wanted her to know

Like an invisible weight tugging
on her institutional marriage
obligations
She wouldn’t cheat even if she
wanted to
Damn morals

But most importantly self respect
She didn’t want the freedom
Only to repeat her mistakes
She wanted freedom
to start her new life over again
